SCHEDULE A CONSULTATION

Foot and ankle injuries can affect how you live your life every day. If you are struggling to enjoy your favorite activities, are pushing through the pain, or are simply unable to get around like you used to, your journey back to health may be easier than you think.

Regenerative biologics, including targeted cell and PRP injections, can literally get you back on your feet and help return you to the active lifestyle you love.

Commonly Treated Foot And Ankle Injuries

  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Ankle Instability
  • Peroneal Tendon Tear
  • Ligament Sprain or Tear
  • Subtalar Arthritis or Instability
  • Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome

Alternatives to Foot And Ankle Surgery

Common surgical options for foot and ankle injuries include plantar fascial release, ankle arthroscopy and the more drastic ankle fusion. These procedures can have a long, painful recovery process and extended rehabilitation period, and the outcomes for the more severe surgical options are uncertain.

Thanks to regenerative medicine, however, there are simpler, natural alternatives to surgery. We have found that regenerative medicine therapies for foot and ankle injuries provides excellent results and can be a better option than surgery for most injuries.

A Better Solution For Plantar Fasciitis

At the Albano Clinic, we look at all of the possible causes for your injury and the resulting conditions you are suffering from. This helps us design a personalized whole-body approach to help guide you back to health and improve your overall wellness.

When it comes to plantar fasciitis, this approach is key to your success. As one of the most common causes of heel pain, this injury is caused by chronic inflammation of the band of tissues that stretches from your heel to your toes.

The stabbing pain caused by plantar fasciitis not only affects how you live your daily life but can also change the way you walk as you alter your gait to minimize your pain. This, in turn, can lead to additional foot and ankle injuries, as well as knee, hip, and back problems.

Targeted regenerative medicine and PRP injections can help supercharge your body’s natural healing process and fight the chronic pain and inflammation of plantar fasciitis – getting you back on your feet and moving through life pain-free.

Nine years later and I have not had any issues with planter fasciitis or anything that has slowed me down because of the PRP process. I highly recommend PRP and I’m confident you won’t regret it. It will heal your injury, not just cover it up.~ Shad Stromberg

PRP Stops Plantar Fasciitis Pain

Shad Stromberg is a USAF pilot at Hill Air Force Base and an avid runner who logged 30 miles per week until he got plantar fasciitis. Shad struggled to get out of bed in the morning and pushed himself to continue training. "The condition truly slowed me down. I lost a minute per mile and couldn’t run more than five miles a week. The pain was so intense and I needed to do something. Dr. Albano told me about a relatively new PRP process and I knew it was definitely something I wanted to try. I had to pay for everything out of pocket but I truly believed in the body's self-healing abilities. I received three injections over a few months and after about three months, I was 100%." Shad's back to his active lifestyle filled with flying the F-35, playing soccer and, of course, running.

FAQs

What is the difference between regenerative cellular therapy and PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatments? Expand

Regenerative cells are usually harvested from a patient’s healthy bone marrow. To harvest PRP, we draw your blood and then concentrate the platelets. We then precisely inject the regenerative cells and concentrated platelets into the damaged area, and both biologics go to work to help repair the damaged tissues.

We typically use both regenerative cells and PRP when treating patients. However, there are times when we use just PRP. Every treatment plan varies according to the individual needs of our patients.

Where exactly are these regenerative cells obtained? Expand

Bone marrow is a good source for regenerative cells and we like to use this type of tissue to help heal

There are many living regenerative cells in these tissues. There are also many healthy growth factors that boost your body’s natural healing mechanisms.

What can affect the results of regenerative cell therapy? Expand

For years, the medical establishment has put an emphasis on reducing inflammation and has employed liberal use of anti-inflammatory drugs, usually in the form of NSAIDs, like ibuprofen and naproxen, or steroids. We now know that inhibiting your body’s natural inflammatory response prevents repair cells from reaching your injury.

Reliance on NSAIDs can actually cause further injury by masking pain and allowing further damage to injured tissues. Our targeted biologics treatments are designed to do the opposite of overused NSAIDs. These treatments don't block inflammation - instead, they provoke a healing inflammatory response to increase the number of repair cells in the injured area.

We highly stress that you do not use NSAIDs during your recovery process.
In addition, smoking significantly hinders your body’s healing response. To achieve the best possible outcome from your procedure, it is best to discontinue smoking six months prior to your procedure.
