The spinal column is an important skeletal structure, vital to every move you make. If you’re living with a back or spinal injury, you know how debilitating such injuries can be.

Pain due to back and spinal problems can be acute and incapacitating, depriving you of the activities you love and the life you want to live. Thankfully, regenerative medicine and PRP therapies can help pinpoint your pain and get you back to the active lifestyle you deserve.

Commonly Treated Back And Spine Injuries

  • SI Joint Pain
  • Pelvic Instability
  • Back Pain
  • Neck Pain
  • Facet Joint Osteoarthritis
  • Bulging or Herniated Disc
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Foraminal Stenosis

Alternatives To Back, Spine And SI Joint Surgery

If you been through months of physical therapy, chiropractic treatments and other conservative therapies without seeing any significant relief, you’re probably considering surgery. Surgery, however, may not be your best option.

At the Albano Clinic, our experience is key to diagnosing the source of your pain. Once we have pinpointed the source, we help you reduce back, spine, neck, or SI joint pain and increase your function through targeted regenerative medicine and PRP treatments.

This minimally invasive approach utilizes your own natural growth factors and regenerative cells to treat bulging or herniated discs, degenerative conditions in the spine, and other back, neck, and SI joint injuries that cause you pain. These customized regenerative orthobiologics injections can help you avoid invasive back and spine surgery and help you on your journey back to health and wellness.

Back Pain Doesn’t Have To Ruin Your Life

Conservative therapy, like physical therapy and chiropractic treatments, may work for back pain – but it could take months or even years to recover using such therapies.

If these treatments don’t work, steroid injections, nerve blocks, and radiofrequency (RF) ablation are often recommended. Steroids, however, damage the tissue with every injection – and if they do work, only act as a Band-Aid. Likewise, nerve blocks do not last and RF ablation weakens the muscles around the spine. When these treatment options fail, surgery is often recommended next.

Regenerative medicine can be a better option. Targeted biologics injections of the spinal ligaments, epidural space, and herniated discs can help you avoid surgery and significantly help with your pain and function.

A Better Solution For SI Joint Pain

Sacroiliac (SI) joint pain can wreak havoc on your active lifestyle. As SI joint pain can mimic other conditions, such as hip problems or herniated discs, proper diagnosis is vital to recovery.

Whether you’re experiencing this pain due to an injury, hip or spine surgery, or even pregnancy and childbirth, SI joint pain is often resistant to conservative treatments. Unlike traditional treatments such as steroid injections, nerve blocks, and surgery, regenerative medicine can get you back to your life without having to undergo any invasive procedures.

Customized regenerative medicine and PRP injections supercharge your body’s natural healing process and can help you feel better, move better and live better – all with your own natural orthobiologics.

Start Living Better Today

I was looking at living my life in bed, living my life with constant pain. And now, I don’t have to do that.~ Tina Brown

Previously Active Mother Can Walk, Ski And Bike Again

Just like back injuries, SI joint injuries can leave you desperate for a better solution. More than two decades after her initial hip injury, Tina’s pelvis was worse than ever. Years of use, childbirth, and her active lifestyle had left her bedridden, and traditional medical treatment options only made her condition worse. After regenerative cell and PRP treatments at the Albano Clinic, Tina is bedridden no more.

FAQs

Will my condition need one round of injections or more? Expand

The answer depends on many different variables, as no two injuries or conditions are alike. The severity of the injury, your activity level and your ultimate health goals all play a part in determining the number of treatments necessary.

Do you want to run ultramarathons? Or sit on the floor to play with your grandchildren? On average, our patients receive one to three rounds of injections. Often, one round of injections is enough to help our patients return to their regular activities.

In a normal course of treatment, we do one round of injections and wait until you reach a plateau in your improvement (normally about four months post-treatment). At that point, we determine together if you’ve reached your recovery goal. If there is still room for improvement, we may recommend another round of injections.

How soon will I start feeling better? When can I return to normal activity? Expand

This depends on the severity of your condition and the level of activity that is “normal” for you. Typically, there is an increase in pain for two weeks after the procedure, as your body’s natural inflammatory response goes to work healing your damaged tissue. Everyone heals at different rates, however, and the process could take longer or shorter than two weeks.

The healing process isn’t strictly linear, either. It is more like a roller coaster – there are good days and bad days. You should see measurable improvement after four months and an overall improvement in your quality of life by the end of the healing process.

What is the difference between regenerative cell and PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatments? Expand

Regenerative cells are usually harvested from a patient’s healthy bone marrow. To harvest PRP, we draw your blood and then concentrate the platelets. We then precisely inject the cells and concentrated platelets into the damaged area, and both biologics go to work to help repair the damaged tissues.

We typically use both regenerative cells and PRP when treating patients, however, there are times when we use just PRP. Every treatment plan varies according to the individual needs of our patients.

Where exactly are these regenerative cells obtained? Expand

We work with two different types of cells. The first type of cell comes from your own healthy bone marrow. There are many living stem cells in these tissues

The second type of cell does not come from your body. These tissues contain healthy growth factors that boost your body’s natural healing mechanisms. Typically discarded, these tissues are gathered safely and ethically and no babies are harmed in the process.
