Commonly Treated Nerve Conditions
We specialize in treating peripheral nerve injuries including:
• Carpal tunnel syndrome (median nerve)
• Radial tunnel syndrome (radial nerve)
• Posterior interosseous nerve entrapment
• Sciatic nerve pain
• Peroneal neuropathy (peroneal nerve)
• Tarsal tunnel syndrome (tibial nerves)
• Morton’s neuroma (nerve pain in the foot)
A Better Alternative to Surgery
Traditional treatments — bracing, physical therapy, steroid injections, or surgery — may offer temporary relief but often come with downtime or risk of complications.
At the Albano Clinic, we use ultrasound-guided hydrodissection with PRP or regenerative cells to precisely release nerve entrapments. This technique:
• Surrounds the nerve with fluid (“dissecting” it free from scar tissue or entrapment)
• Delivers growth factors that promote healing
• Reduces inflammation and restores more normal nerve function
• Often eliminates the need for surgical release
Spotlight: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel release surgery, while common, still involves cutting the transverse carpal ligament and carries real risks — persistent numbness, infection, scar tissue formation, or incomplete recovery.
At Albano Clinic, we conducted a triple-blind case study on a patient with six-year recalcitrant bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome — meaning neither the patient, Dr. Albano, nor the evaluating neurologist knew which side received PRP and which received saline until the six-month unblinding.
The results:
- The PRP side showed near-complete symptom resolution at six months and complete resolution at twelve months
- When the saline side was crossed over to PRP at six months, it followed the same trajectory
- Nerve conduction studies confirmed that motor amplitude returned to normal on the treated side
- At twelve months, outcomes on both symptom severity and functional status matched or exceeded published surgical outcomes — without incision, downtime, or surgical risk
This isn't anecdote. It's controlled, blinded outcome data supporting what we see clinically: ultrasound-guided PRP hydrodissection is a legitimate surgical alternative for appropriate carpal tunnel cases.
Patient Spotlight: Case
Case is a 37-year-old cable worker whose job demands constant heavy manual use of both hands. He had lived with bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome for six years, tried night splints for six months without lasting relief, and had attempted chiropractic care without success. Surgery felt like the only remaining option.
Instead, he came to Albano Clinic for PRP hydrodissection.
“I came to Dr. Albano because I had been suffering with bilateral carpal tunnel for over six years and I did not want to do surgery. I’m not only moving better but I got my life back!”
By twelve months post-treatment, Case was pain-free, back to full work capacity, and managing the physical demands of his job without limitation.
June 1, 2019: Case is back to work, pain-free, and able to keep up with the demands of his job and active life.
